In the 1940’s, while running the family’s business located on 7th Street (Orthober’s Market), Theodore (Ted) Roosevelt Orthober began helping his brother Victor construct houses in the Louisville area.

Ted passed down his attention to details to his son, James Orthober. Under his watchful eye, James became a skilled home builder while helping with framing. Jason, the current CEO of Orthober Custom Homes, began his building career as a construction site cleaner. After graduating from the University of Louisville, he returned to the family business, and today he continues their tradition of fine home building.
